Knights of Columbus Council 14448 Saint Elizabeth Grove, Ok
Over the past two months the council has discussed the assigning of members to prepare the meeting meal , names were drawn from member list as follows for the remainder of 2010:
June - Steve Nutter & John (Keith) Redman
July - Gus Brossett & Chris Carter
Aug. - Pending on having meeting
Sept. – Roy McKinley & Mike Lewandowski
Oct. - Daniel O Connell & Jim Larson
Nov. - Ken Lapke & Donald Furest
These names will not be in the drawing for 2011 meetings. This method should give everyone the chance to show off their cooking skills for the brothers at the meetings.
Tootsie Roll Campaign:
The council has four cases of Tootsie Rolls to hand out this spring. Arrangements have been made with Wall-Mart to be at the north door on June 12 & 13 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
This is not the only place we should be, so if you have a counter or other location that has people passing by please consider having Tootsie Rolls there for the public. Tootsie Rolls are passed out and donations are accepted for the support of the mentally disadvantaged.
We need your support to man the door on June 12 & 13 and will have a sign-up sheet at the meeting June 1st.
Knights Communion Mass

NEWS FROM THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
VICTORY IN PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE CASE
The ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in
San Francisco ruled March 11, 2010 that the words "one nation under God" in the
Pledge of Allegiance "do not violate the Established Clause" of the First
Amendment to the Constitution. The Knights of Columbus led the campaign to
add the words "under God" to the Pledge in the early 1950s. The words stay!
